What's going on with Port Adelaide? Prior to the season a ton of people (me included) thought that the Power would be to challenge Hawthorn as the top side but after 7 rounds they are 3 wins and 4 losses and after announcing mid week that team legend Kane Cornes was retiring after game 300 I would have thought that would be more than enough motivation to get fired up for the match against the seemingly rudderless Brisbane Lions. But having not watched the game so I'm just going by the final score they 7 seemed anything but up for the contest losing by 37 points.
After being the supposed front runners in fitness, fourth quarter specialists and all that other crap they reckon they are they seem flat as a pancake and now coach Ken Hinkley has his first real test as a coach in trying to get this lackluster unit back on target.
It is only round 7 so a bit early to hit the panic button yet but there are some worrying sign's I reckon.
On the other side of the coin good on the Lions, after round 5 on the back of 3 consecutive 60+ point thrashings they have arrested their poor form with wins over Carlton and Port who seem to be stuck in the mud.
