Round 11 starts the first round of byes with Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Hawthorn, Richmond and the Bulldogs all having the weekend off.
Despite losing Friday night the Fockers still hold a point lead at the top of the ladder but positions for the top 4 are really heating up with the Swans on 32. Weagles, Pies and the Giants 28 and Hawks, Crows and Tigers 24 with a further 4 teams on 20 points.
The first round of byes begins this week and with a host of significant matches taking place with major ramifications for teams aiming for a finals spot.
Collingwood are playing the Giants at the MCG in what is a rare appearance for GWS at this venue with both teams in a position to consolidate a top 4 spot should be a beauty, the Swans and the Roos play at Etihad Stadium,  North are on 20 points just 4 points outside of the top 8 and the Swans 2nd with 32 points pushing for top spot.
After suffering their first loss of the year Fremantle travel to Metricon to take on injury ravaged Gold Coast and this could be ugly, with their manic defense I'm predicting the Suns could struggle to score over 40 in this match.
After 6 straight wins the Eagles will face Essendon at home and with the train wreck that is currently the Essendon football club this could be 100 plus point drubbing hope I'm wrong as I love the Bombers but after watching the garbage we have been churning out lately I can't see anything but a shellacking coming up, the Eagles average 107.6 points a game where as Essendon average 75.6 which sums up their offensive capabilities at the moment.
Friday night sees Port playing the Cats at the Adelaide Oval with the Power starting to find their feet after a slow start to the year. After having a quick look at Geelongs recent interstate record it doesn't bode very well for them with only 2 wins out of  7 games last year.
The last match of the round is St.Kilda against Melbourne at Etihad Stadium. Both teams sit on 3 wins and this promises to be a great game, only the Dees poor recent record at Etihad has me thinking the Saints will win this but only just.
