Finally some football, even if it is only 2 x 20 minute halves to take some focus off the Bombers. For everyone involved whether it be players, coaches, officials, trainers, supporters whoever the last couple of weeks have thrown the 2013 season into disarray. Of course some journalists have done their best to throw this into the worst possible light suggesting thing's like Jobe Watson's Brownlow being taken off him Essendon getting removed from the entire season and so forth.
Originally after Essendon came out saying they had asked the AFL and ASADA to investigate I smelled a rat why would they ask for this now and not at the end of 2012, did they just come into some info or what happened?
Then 2 days later ACC come out with details (even if they were very vague) of a year long investigation into all sport's in Australia. This can't have been a coincidence so the question I raise is did Essendon know they had did the wrong thing last year and got wind of the ACC investigation or was it the other way around? Was the ACC still getting information together saw the EFC's press conference and decided to announce what they had been up to? Probably never know doesn't matter now anyway.
Although one suggestion The Age's Caroline Wilson put up was that if any improprieties then coach James Hird should fall on the sword and I agree.
The interview with Stephen Dank on the ABC's 7:30 report was interesting and his claim's that some of the coaching staff may have used illegal substances seem's odd to me why would they want or need to? Doesn't really compute does it.
I got a feeling this could still not be done by season's end, and if the Don's make the final's and then the investigation is completed surely they could wait until after the Grand Final to announce their finding's.
When you look at season 2012 if Essendon were using illegal practices then it certainly didn't do much for them. Over the last 9 round's the won just 1 game against Port Adelaide whom were an absolute train wreck last season. Then you look at all the soft tissue injuries and it makes you wonder if they were using peptides or other performance enhancing drug's then what the hell happened?
Well being a life long Bomber's supporter after my initial anger I've decided whatever happen's I'm going down with the ship, everybody is entitled to a second chance my god not too many people have made bad decision's like me so if mistakes were made learn from them put them behind you and move on because at the end of it all it doesn't matter where you've been or where your at but only where your going
GO BOMBERS!!!!
